Vanguard is a low-cost broker that provides commission-free online trading of stocks and exchange-traded funds. However, it does charge certain account-related fees. Here’s a look:

VanguardHow To Open a Vanguard Account

Opening a Vanguard account online takes less than 10 minutes. Here’s what you’ll need to provide:

  • Account number and routing number from your bank to transfer funds into your new account
  • Employer’s name and address
  • Your contact information, including an email address
  • Social Security number
  • Date of birth
